KUALA LUMPUR: Ekuiti Nasional Bhd (Ekuinas) has acquired a controlling stake in local turnkey and component manufacturer Flexi Versa Group Sdn Bhd (FVG) based on an enterprise value (EV) of approximately RM330 million, marking the government-linked private equity fund’s first foray into the electronic manufacturing services (EMS) industry.
Flexi Versa may not have started life as a traditional EMS company but through acquisition and strategic development they have become a significant and impressive player in outsourced manufacturing in Asia.
Some see vertical integration as having box-build in the same company as PCBA (printed Circuit Board Assembly), but there’s so much more to it than that.
